Challenge Stages & Qualification

6. What are Prelims and Mains?

The Challenge has two performance stages:

Prelims → Mains

“Prelims” and “Mains” are names used by MyCloth India to describe the Challenge stages.

They do not indicate any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement or administration by UPSC, the Government of India or any government authority.

7. What is VES?

VES means Verified Eligible Sale.

A Verified Eligible Sale (VES) is a genuine sale that satisfies the applicable Challenge requirements and remains eligible after MyCloth India's verification process.

An order is not automatically a Verified Eligible Sale merely because it appears in a dashboard or an order has been placed.

8. Is VES the qualification or passing criteria?

Yes.

Verified Eligible Sales (VES) are the required qualification / passing criteria for the Prelims and Mains stages.

The participant must achieve the required number of Verified Eligible Sales (VES) for the relevant stage.

9. How many VES are required to qualify / pass Prelims?
Prelims Qualification / Passing Criteria 50 Verified Eligible Sales (VES)

A participant must achieve a minimum of 50 Verified Eligible Sales (VES) to qualify / pass Prelims.

10. What happens after I qualify Prelims?

After achieving the required 50 Verified Eligible Sales (VES) and qualifying Prelims, the participant automatically enters Mains.

There is no waiting period.

11. Do Prelims sales carry forward to Mains?

No.

Prelims is the qualification stage. Prelims sales do not carry forward into the final Mains performance score.

12. How many VES are required to qualify / pass Mains?
Mains Qualification / Passing Criteria 35 Verified Eligible Sales (VES)

A participant must achieve a minimum of 35 Verified Eligible Sales (VES) in Mains to qualify / pass Mains.

13. What if I have the highest Mains score but fewer than 35 VES?

The participant is not Mains-qualified.

A participant must achieve at least 35 final Verified Eligible Sales (VES) to qualify Mains and become eligible for the final Rank #1 Winner determination.

Having the highest score among participants who have not reached 35 VES does not make that participant the Winner.

14. What happens if nobody reaches 35 VES in Mains?

If no participant achieves the minimum 35 Verified Eligible Sales (VES) required to qualify Mains:

  • There are zero Mains-qualified participants.
  • There is no Rank #1 Winner.
  • The Tie-Break Mechanism does not apply.
  • No Prize Money is distributed.

Sales & Verified Eligible Sales (VES)

15. What makes a sale a Verified Eligible Sale (VES)?

A sale must generally be genuine, attributable to the participant through the official Challenge process, paid successfully, connected to a genuine customer and compliant with the applicable Challenge rules.

The sale must also remain eligible after verification.

The detailed requirements are provided in the official Verified Eligible Sale (VES) Definition.

16. Can an order shown in my dashboard be removed later?

Yes.

A sale may initially appear in a participant's records but may later be excluded if final verification determines that it does not satisfy the applicable Challenge requirements.

Officially verified records control the final Challenge result.

17. Can a family member or friend place an order?

A family or friend transaction is not automatically invalid solely because of the relationship.

However, the transaction must satisfy all applicable Challenge requirements and verification rules.

A transaction may be excluded where verification identifies self-purchase, prohibited related accounts, participant funding or reimbursement, artificial sales generation, manipulation, fraud, cancellation, return/refund/chargeback, prohibited methods or other rule violations.

Winner & Ranking

18. How many Winners will there be?
Final Winner Structure ONE Rank #1 Winner ONLY

The Prize Money is not divided among multiple winners or among all Mains-qualified participants.

19. How is the Rank #1 Winner determined?

The primary ranking criterion is the highest final Mains Verified Eligible Sales (VES).

If two or more Mains-qualified participants have the same highest VES score, the official pre-published Tie-Break Mechanism is applied.

20. Is the Winner selected by random selection?

No.

Rank #1 is determined through the published performance-ranking criteria and Tie-Break Mechanism.

21. What happens if two participants have the same VES score?

The official Tie-Break Mechanism is applied among the Mains-qualified participants.

The published objective criteria are applied in their specified order until one participant is ranked higher.

There will still be only one Rank #1 Winner.

Advertising, Fraud & Compliance

22. Can I use misleading advertising to generate sales?

No.

Participants must follow the official Participant Advertising & Content Policy.

False claims, misleading statements, fake discounts, fake urgency, impersonation, false government or UPSC association, review manipulation, spam and other prohibited promotional practices are not permitted.

23. Can I use bots, fake accounts or artificial methods?

No.

Artificial, fraudulent or manipulative methods are prohibited.

This includes fake or fictitious customers, prohibited account manipulation, self-purchases, artificial traffic, bots, payment manipulation and other conduct covered by the official Fraud Prevention & Disqualification Rules.

24. What happens if a sale is found to be invalid?

The sale may be removed from the participant's Verified Eligible Sales (VES) count.

Depending on the circumstances, invalidation may also affect qualification, ranking or other Challenge calculations.

Serious or systematic misconduct may result in participant disqualification.
